Let’s Talk About Postpartum Pelvic Health (Because No One Else Does)

In my last post, I shared a bit of my own story—the birth trauma I experienced, the way I felt abandoned by the system, and how I created Prana Pelvic Health out of a need for the care I wish I’d had.

That story isn’t unique.

Every week, I meet people with stories just like mine:

• They were told they were “cleared” at six weeks, but their bodies didn’t feel ready.

• They leaked when they laughed or sneezed.

• They felt pressure, pain, or fear during intimacy.

• They thought, “This doesn’t feel normal… but maybe this is just what happens after birth?”

I want to say this loud and clear:

Just because something is common doesn’t mean it’s normal.

And just because no one told you about postpartum pelvic health, doesn’t mean it’s too late to start healing now.

So Why Doesn’t Anyone Talk About This?

There's a massive gap in our awareness of pelvic health both societally and in the healthcare system when it comes to postpartum support.

We’re checked constantly during pregnancy, monitored closely during birth—and then?

Six weeks later, most of us get a quick once-over, maybe a rushed “You’re good to go,” and we’re sent back into the world, expected to carry babies, groceries, and everything else… with no real check-in on our bodies or our healing.

No one talks about:

• Prolapse

• Pelvic floor trauma

• Pain with sex

• Incontinence

• Diastasis recti

• The grief and disconnection that can come after birth

And yet, so many of us are living with these symptoms—silently, confused, and wondering if we’re just supposed to live with them.

Here’s the Truth:

Your postpartum symptoms are not something to be ashamed of.

They’re not your fault.

And they’re not permanent—with the right care, healing is possible.

At Prana Pelvic Health, I work with clients to gently reconnect with their bodies. Sometimes that means breathwork. Sometimes it’s soft tissue release, pelvic floor therapy, or learning how to move without holding your breath or bracing your core. Sometimes it’s just having a safe space to talk about what’s going on.

Whatever your healing path looks like—it’s valid. And you deserve support that actually meets you there.

You’re Not Alone, And You’re Not Broken

Postpartum healing isn’t just about stopping leaks or fixing pressure. It’s about learning to feel strong, supported, and at home in your body again. It’s about shedding the shame and silence and stepping into care that honors what you’ve been through.

You’re allowed to ask questions.

You’re allowed to advocate for yourself.

You’re allowed to say, “Something still doesn’t feel right.”

And if you’re ready, I’d be honored to support you.

Let’s Keep the Conversation Going

If you’ve ever felt dismissed at a postpartum check-up…

If you’ve ever thought you were “cleared” but didn’t feel healed…

If you’ve ever googled “Is it normal to still feel pressure down there?” at 2 a.m…

You’re not alone.

Let’s talk about postpartum pelvic health—because it matters.

Because your body matters.

And because healing should never be something you have to figure out on your own.

You can book a free 30-minute consultation here if you’re curious about whether pelvic floor therapy is right for you.

With care,
